Hermitary
«Resources and reflections on hermits and solitude: hermits, solitude, silence, simplicity: articles, book reviews, images, forum ... »
Hermitary offers a variety of perspectives on the eremetical life in Christian, Taoist, Buddhist, and other traditions. The site keeper also has a blog, Hermit's Thatch.

That's a neat web site - thanks for sharing. Obviously, people living in solitude have contributed tremendous value to Christianity.

Yes, in fact, as the Hermitary FAQ says, the word "hermit" comes from the Greek word for desert, in reference to the Desert Fathers (& Mothers) of the 4th century Church. I don't know much about them but I believe they have had a profound influence on our faith.
